Ein solches Leben beginnt erst, wenn der Heilige Geist ihm die S\u00fcnde aufdeckt und ihm durch die Wirkung der Gnade zeigt, wie der sterbende Heiland seine Schuld vers\u00f6hnt hat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mit dem Augenblick der neuen, himmlischen Geburt f\u00e4ngt der Mensch an, in und mit Christo zu leben. Jesus ist denen, die da glauben, die eine k\u00f6stliche Perle, um deretwillen wir alles, was wir haben, freudig hingeben. Er hat unsre Liebe so v\u00f6llig gewonnen, dass unser Herz ganz allein nur f\u00fcr Ihn lebt; zu seiner Ehre wollen wir leben, um seines Evangeliums willen gehen wir willig in den Tod; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Er ist der Ma\u00dfstab unsers Wandels, das erhabene Vorbild, nach welchem wir unsern inwendigen Menschen zu vervollkommnen trachten. <strong>Des Apostels Paulus Worte sagen weit mehr<\/strong>, als die meisten Menschen ahnen; sie bezeugen: Zweck und Ziel seines Lebens war Christus; ja, noch mehr, Jesus war f\u00fcr ihn das Leben selber; wie ein Heiliger aus der ersten christlichen Zeit es ausdr\u00fcckt: <strong>Er ass und trank und schlief ein ewiges Leben. Jesus war geradezu sein Odem, die Seele seiner Seele, das Herz seines Herzens, das Leben seines Lebens. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kannst du sagen, dein Leben reiche so weit hinan? <br>Kannst du sagen, Christus sei dein Leben? <br>Ist dir dein Beruf lieb um Christi willen? <br>Treibst du ihn nicht bloss, um dich emporzuarbeiten und den Deinen ein bequemes Dasein zu sichern? <br>Fragst du dich auch:\u00a0<strong><em>&#8222;Ist dies mein Hauptbeweggrund?&#8220;<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">F\u00fcr einen Christen ist er&#8217;s. Er bezeugt, er lebe nur Christum; wie darf er dann noch f\u00fcr etwas andres leben, ohne damit sich eines geistlichen Ehebruchs schuldig zu machen? Viele streben diesem Ziele nach; wer aber darf behaupten, er habe so ganz f\u00fcr Christum gelebt, wie der Apostel? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Und dennoch ist das wahre Leben eines Christen seine Quelle und sein Fortgang, sein Zweck und sein Ziel, in einem Wort zusammen gefasst: Jesus Christus. O Herr, nimm mich an; hier komme ich und flehe vor Dir, lass mich in Dir und f\u00fcr Dich leben.
