Einige bel\u00e4chelten seine Wahl, doch als sie seine Geschichte h\u00f6rten, verwandelte sich ihr L\u00e4cheln in Tr\u00e4nen. Seine Eltern und sein Zuhause wurden durch die Explosion der Atombombe in Nagasaki niedergebrannt. Er war das \u00e4lteste von drei \u00fcberlebenden Geschwistern, und gemeinsam knieten sie in den Tr\u00fcmmern ihres Hauses nieder und beteten darum zu wissen, was sie tun sollten. Einer von ihnen sagte: \u201eIch wei\u00df es &#8211; wir k\u00f6nnen arbeiten.\u201c So begannen sie zu arbeiten, indem sie Holzbretter und Blechst\u00fccke sammelten, und schon bald hatten sie eine kleine H\u00fctte, in der sie leben konnten. Sie h\u00e4tten ihre Bitterkeit n\u00e4hren und schwerm\u00fctig werden k\u00f6nnen &#8211; stattdessen vergaben sie, verga\u00dfen und machten sich an die Arbeit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Niemand, der geistliche Frische bewahren m\u00f6chte, kann es sich leisten, Bitterkeit zu hegen. Sie wird sowohl den Geist als auch den K\u00f6rper vergiften. Wie es einmal ein Arzt ausdr\u00fcckte: \u201eBittere Menschen \u2026 stehen mit der gesamten physischen und mentalen Umwelt auf Kriegsfu\u00df, statt mit ihr in Frieden zu sein.\u201c Walter Alvarez, ein Hausarzt und Seelsorger, sagte: \u201eIch sage Patienten h\u00e4ufig, dass sie es sich nicht leisten k\u00f6nnen, Bitterkeit oder Hass aufrechtzuerhalten. Solche Dinge k\u00f6nnen sie krank machen und sie ersch\u00f6pfen. Ich habe einmal mit angesehen, wie ein Mann sich selbst St\u00fcck f\u00fcr St\u00fcck umbrachte, einfach indem er an nichts anderes dachte als an seinen Hass gegen\u00fcber einem Verwandten, der ihn verklagt hatte.
